ACBOGCC , founded in 1979 in Cincinnati, Ohio, is a 501(C)(3) membership organization incorporated in the state of Ohio. It is a chapter of the American Council of the Blind of Ohio (ACB-O) which is located in Columbus, Ohio. ACB-O is one of seventy affiliates of the national organization of the American Council of the Blind with offices in the Washington, D.C. area.
As an integral part of the state and national organization of ACB, ACBOGCC is dedicated to improving the quality and equality of life for blind and visually impaired persons in the Greater Cincinnati area.
In order to enhance the life styles of blind and visually impaired individuals, ACBOGCC directs its efforts to equal access for blind and visually impaired persons to information, education, employment, transportation, art and recreation, and all other facits of society, all so commonly available to society in general.
ACBOGCC engages in advocacy to inform federal, state, and local officials and legislators as well as the general public on issues of importance to blind and visually impaired persons.
Our members include persons who are blind, visually impaired, and sighted, all working together to accomplish the objectives of the American Council of the Blind.
